I am so lucky that not only do I have great campaign volunteers, but they’re the kind of people who know how to have fun while we’re getting the word out about my candidacy. If you’d like to join our merry band of campaigners, all you have to do is email me at: dawn@dawnharkness.com I can use all the help I can get! Contrary to what it may look like, it isn’t required that you coordinate the color of your clothes to match the banner.

Aww, another nice spirited visibility at Stop and Shop on OCP. Stan, Phil, Tim, Adam, Melanie, Bob, Kristin, yours truly and Stephanie behind were ever so slightly raucous this particular Saturday morning

Here’s another great forum at Temple Beth Shalom. I wish we had a picture of the fabulous Team Harkness volunteers who were the only folks who braved the rain to support a candidate. Talk about committed! The fabulous breakfast served up by the Brotherhood was a great reward for their unparalleled efforts. I’m glad I lived up to their expectations.

We’re “signing” in the rain, Just signing in the rain! Way to keep the sign dry Stan!

Do I look like I was having a good time at the debate? I was!

Yep. I’m still enjoying myself.

Gooooooood Morning Nobscot!

Here’s the last concert on the green of the year. This is my friend Meade, who is home on vacation from her studies in Ireland, helping out her mom with face painting. Go raibh maith agat, Meade! (That’s: Thank you Meade in Gaelic.)

Here’s the deal. The kids get free balloons, and the parents get literature.

Bob and Josh came by to help get out the word. Bob talks to parents, and Josh gives tours of the inside of the ambulance to his peers. Thanks to him, I’ve got the “under six” vote sewn up.

It’s the last concert of the year, night has fallen, and I’m thinking time it’s time for me to go under the paint.

Say! We look pretty good!

The clean up crew posing for a last picture with the Great Green Ambulance’s new license plate. CAWT 1. Do you get it? Here’s a clue. Sound it out. Email me if you want in on this subtle lawyer joke.

Ok, it may be catty but I just gotta say it. My sign is prettier!

Hello Saxonville! We had a great visibility and then had some fabulous Pizza from Georgio’s Pizza and Family Restaurant. Turns out, not only is Stan a political soul-mate, but it was great to find one more thing in common. We both love anchovies!

The visibility team strikes again! This time in front of Stop and Shop on OCP.

Here I am doing a one woman visibility in downtown Framingham. Nothing like the Great Green Ambulance to get a little boost.

I made a new friend and got quite the political history lesson from Renato.

Here’s Wes looking all GQ doing balloon duty with the lovely Stephanie at a Concert on the Green.

Here’s the visibility crew greeting commuters at Route 126 and 30. Welcome home Framingham!

Adam and Kate were two of the first intrepid campaign workers to give blood for the cause.

Ok, this is not a good look for me, but I’m happy to give and that’s what counts.

After about half an hour of poking and jabbing Kate trying to find an accessible vein on her right arm, the nurses were ready to give up. Kate being Kate, she insisted they go for it on her left. Voila! They struck blood! Kate gets the award for most hardcore volunteer. Mind you this was her first time giving blood and she says she’ll do it again. What a great kid!

Irwin was a force for patience! All the volunteers before him created a glut at the tables, so he had to wait an incredibly long time to give. But give he did, and with a smile!

Leave it to Stephanie to actually read all the instructions!

This what greeted John Kerry when he came to Framingham on the hottest day of July.

I love this picture. Here we are at a Concert at the Green. There’s Lora doing her inimitable and fabulous face painting. That’s my partner, Kristin blowing up balloons, and Irwin doing string duty. And me, I get to talk about politics and alternative energy to folks all evening long. Fun way to spend a summer evening!

There’s a reason politicians kiss babies. It’s one of the sweetest parts of campaigning!

Kate painting faces

Here’s my daughter, Kate, lending her artistic talents to the face painting crew. Not to worry parents, we never paint political slogans on your children!

Dawn and Harry

Harry is a World War II veteran who just celebrated his 90th Birthday! He’s definitely one of my best goodwill ambassadors and volunteers.

Harry makes his move

He’s also full of surprises!

Here’s my one of my favorite singing and dancing partners, Sarah. We’re belting out Stars and Stripes forever. Now Sarah has a sweet voice, but it’s probably a good thing that this is a still picture and not a video with sound to catch my dulcet tones!

July 11th - What a crowd!

This is Framingham!

Balloon Volunteers

Here are Stephanie and Kristin signing up volunteers, getting out the word, and looking great doing it!

Here are two of my favorite people in Framingham, Stan and Carone. They were part of the Flag Day Crew at the Great Green Ambulance. Not only are they amazing volunteers, but they crack me up for hours on end!

Visibility at Edgell and Rt 9

Here’s part of my good lookin’ visibility crew, Kate, Stan and Phil! We’re all going to have great arm muscles after this campaign from waving to everyone going by.

Adam has great visibility style

The long line of future voters waiting for face painting.

Sidney and Dawn at the concert. Votem para Dawn!

In an effort to help raise some money for Flag Day, I volunteered to sit in the dunk tank. I’m happy to say that mission was accomplished! Here’s my neighbor, Sam, giving one little guy some pointers and a pep talk.

Like he needed it!

Here’s one of my opponents Chris Walsh trying mightily to dunk me. He threw nine balls and never got even close. The dude throws like an artist! He should stick to drawing pretty pictures of houses. I almost fell off my perch from laughing so hard.

And when he couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn, guess what he did?

Thanks to a fast photographer, we got your number Chris! Shame shame shame!

I was lucky to have some of the happiest and most enthusiastic sign holders in the Natick 4th of July Parade. Here’s Mary, Dylan, me, Kristin and Lora posing with the Great Green Ambulance before the parade.

Happy Fourth of July!

The theme of this year’s parade was Red White and Blue Goes Green!. The sign on the front of the ambulance says Running on Vegetable Oil.

It was way fun driving through the Streets of Natick and getting the word out about alternative fuels. People loved the concept. I’m pretty sure I have the Natick vote sewn up! (If only they could vote for me!)
